Parents Unite for Support:

Parents in Toto hosts various support groups for the entire family.  Two parent support groups are sponsored by the Advisory Board on Autism and Related Disorders (ABOARD) and held at our center: Cranberry CARES serves families with children diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome or High Functioning Autism.  CARES meets the second Friday morning of each month from 10AM-Noon and just celebrated its 10th anniversary as the first group of its kind in Western PA.  Contact Mary Limbacher at 724.473.0990 or mary@parentsintoto.org. The Autism Support Group welcomes parents of children diagnosed along the spectrum and typically meets on the fourth Thursday afternoon of each month during the school year. please check our calendar for dates. Contact Catherine Lalonde at 724.713.0222 or clalonde@zoominternet.net.   Other groups unique to Parents in Toto include Family & Friends Social Group which is open to individuals, parents, siblings and friends at the center on the first three Saturdays of each month from 1-3PM for informal interaction, games, activities and snacks. Our Young Adult Group meets on a Friday evening from 7-8PM each month for activities of their choosing: board games, sharing experiences, conversation.  The group welcomes young men and women over the age of 16. New to Parents in Toto  in December 2011 is the Pre K/Kindergarten Social & Support Group held the first Saturday from 11AM-Noon.  Facilitated by Glade Run TSS and Transition Coordinator Krystin Smith, the group will allow parents and their children to scocialize and share experiences.  Also new, Adult Women with ASD Group meets the third Saturday from 11AM-Noon each month for friendship and support.

Friendships are encouraged:

could compare to the mutual enjoyment experienced by
the families who shared the descent of the 327th Star Corp
at our center. More than fifty family members and friends
attended. Toto friend Matt Boozel continues provide
support at many of our celebrations, including the annual
"Heroes for Autism" in October which brings autism
awareness to our community through entertainment.
